First Aid Camp (1-3 May 2009)

First Aid Camp had been successfully accomplished during weekend at PPM WPKL training center. The camp is organized for those who are in training for their king scout test and also for those who are interested in..There're around 70 participants for this course, including facilitators.

Centenary Celebration of the Scout Association of Malaysia

The Centenary Celebration of the Scout Association of Malaysia was successfully help on 25 April 2009 at Stadium Negara.It was held from 9.00am to 5.00pm.There were 10000 participants. The event was attended by scouts from whole Malaysia and also scouts from overseas. ZR crew set up MyScout Shop and decorate the venue one day before the event starts.

A : Knife and Parang -parts, sharpening, maintenance and care, and use and handling.
B : Axe and Saw – parts and types, sharpening, maintenance and care, and use and handling.
C : Lamp & Stove – maintenance and care, and use and handling.
D : Ropes and Spars – parts and types, coiling, maintenance and care, and use and handling.

"Say No To Plastic Bag Usage" Campaign

ZR crew had volunteered themselves in the "Say No to Plastic Bag Usage" Campaign. It was held at Mont Kiara Solaris Cold StorageZR crews doing their part in the environmental awareness campaign as a scout. By promoting reusable bags as grocery bag, it is hope that the consumer will cut down the usage of plastic bags. At the same time, money collected by the bag sale will be allocated as the PPMWPKL scouting fund. Overall, around 100 bags was successfully sold to the consumers. The main objective which we have to bear in mind is to use the Recycle bags, non-woven bag reduce using plastic bags usage and save our earth/environment.

SMK Raja Abdullah's Weekly Activity

ZR crews had been participated in weekly activities of SMK Raja Abdullah on 28 March 2009.After the ceromony section, Zonice crews help to facilitate on marching. After the marching, the scout members of SMK Raja Abdullah start to prepare for their next session.Next activity was backwood cooking. Few of the ZR Crew give a demonstration on how to do backwood cooking. All of us enjoying this section a lot.

EARTH HOUR

28 million scouts all over the world have pledge their promise to be the protector and guardian of the environment. On this very day, all the electrical appliances are turned off for 1hr which is from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm. It was joined by people around the world, it will be the largest known campaign to ever occur in the history of humanization. Scouts in at least 45 countries participated in Earth Hour, engaging with their family, friends, classmates and communities to share in this world initiative in partnership with WWF. WOSM have received confirmation that Scouts from at least 44 countries participated in Earth Hour.

PPMWPKL King Scout Standardization Camps

48 scouts in Kuala Lumpur had taken part in the King Scout Standardization Camps to decide if they are qualified to be called King Scout.During the camps,the participants was tested with all the scouting skills.

ZR Crew involved fully in this awareness campaign as a support of peace. The event was held at the Parliament Building. Other than supporting peace and saying NO to war, charity campaign was also done concurrently with the event. Many PPM and parliament officials attended the campaign as a show of support toward unity and peace.

Part 1: The scouting principle and scout ambition which is Lencana Usaha, Maju and Jaya.
The schedule of the day are written as following time:

10.30 am-Introduction of the Founder's History and History of Scouting Development in Malaysia.

Scout Oath and the 10 ground rules of scouting.
The training of Scout's Motto, Scout Salute, Knowledge of Scout Uniform, Rukun Negara and the Scout Emblem.

Introduction of Malaysian Flag, the Jalur gemilang, the flag WPKL and other states of Malaysia. Also, the national and states coat of arm .

The National Anthem and the State Anthem, History of the National Anthem, History of Malaysia, The Malaysian Government Structure: Executive, Legislative and Judiciary. Government Agency and the Map of Kuala Lumpur. Along, training on making Scout Thong or Rambu Pengakap.

Introduction of Biography of Government Cabinet Member, Member of PPM Council, WOSM Council along with preparation og log book for Lencana Kemajuan.

It was the first meeting of the year
The meeting was held at ZRHQ at 9.30am. All ZR crew was given the activities of the year schedule which is packed with many events. Briefing were given for all the events that will soon be held. There are many interesting event like the Malaysian 100th Year Scouting Rally that will soon be held at Stadium Merdeka and also cycling tours and eco camps.

ZR Crew organise a dinner to celebrate the beginning of the new year and on the same time, we gather and share the joy on those past achivement. We had done new recruitment and we all also put our hope on these young scouts hoping they will do their best in scouting, inconsequence building a good chraracter in them and be a good leader in the future.Brand new year and a brand new hope. We should continue the BP spirit and do the best among all crew members. ROVERING FOR SUCCESS !!
